Cloches de Corneville Opera, Theatre Royal commencing March 22nd 1886, with Messrs Shiel Barry and William Hogarth 

The poster is from the Weir Collection of posters, playbills and photographs mainly of Edinburgh theatres in the late 19th century, and features scenes from the opera Cloches de Corneville (Bells of Corneville), a comic opera by Robert Planquette. 

As well as posters, the collection contains scenes from plays and portraits of the leading actors and actresses. It also includes black-and-white photographs of characters from pantomimes. 

The Weir Collection is held in the National Library of Scotland.
