Rosslyn Chapel - The Chappell of Rosslin
A detailed view of the fifteenth century chapel (or Collegiate Church of St. Michael). The full design was not finished but a highly decorated choir and sacristy can be seen.
This image is taken from John Slezer's Theatrum Scotiae, 1693. Theatrum Scotiae is an important record of Scottish towns, castles and palaces in the 17th century. For most of these places, it contains some of the earliest views that survive.
Theatrum Scotiae is held in the National Library of Scotland.
The image is only available in A2 as any text or small details would not be legible in a smaller size.
